Busy. Busy. So very tired. Busy. For those of you lacking access to my facebook photos, here's a peek at some of the (more completed) parts of our house. It's definitely coming together!

This is my happy place where the evening glass of wine and morning cup of coffee/good book happen (occasionally).

LOTS of deck-staining coming our way! (and Kayli, in this photo).

Our backyard/woods!

Kayli looks four years old in this photo.

Some of my 'veggie garden!'

Blackboard kitchen table!

Kitchen with Behr "Ground Ginger" paint.

My custom "WINE, not?!" - painted wall! LOVE it!

Kayli has spent the first part of summer being TERRIFIED of sand AND water.  This did not bode well for our first beach day with our best friends.  Thankfully, she worked through it and was digging in the sand and playing in the water in no time!

We thought we might be taking a field trip to the hospital last night. Kayliana and Matthew were playing in the family room. She slipped, fell, and did a total face-plant up against the ottoman/foot stool/storage bench/coffee table thingy.  Definitely biggest, LONGEST, loudest cry we’ve ever heard from her for an injury.  Her nose was scraped up on the outside, but after several minutes (of shrieking – hers, not mine – or Mike’s), I realized that it might be more than just a surface wound as her nose was starting to swell up, and a little bit of dark coloring was appearing under her eyes.  (Plus, the fact that she was crying THAT hard…).  Anyway, we called the nurse-line (since it was after hours).  She said to ice it for 20 minutes every hour.  Um, yeah, right.  Kayli is not-yet TWO.  She’s not going to sit for 20 minutes let alone let us put something big and cold on her ‘owie.’  Mike managed to ice it off and on for maybe 2 minutes but that’s the best we can do.  We need to just watch it over the next few days.  Obviously, if it suddenly started looking really bad, we’d need to get her in, but otherwise in 5-7 days, when the swelling’s gone down, we’ll know if it’s broken and needing surgery.  I kinda doubt it.  While I haven’t totally peeked under the big Scooby Doo bandaid yet, from what I can see, it looks a little better this morning.  I knew that Scooby Doo bandaid would work magic!
